VA Man Sentenced for Pocomoke Arson

A Virginia man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for arson.  38 year old David Parks of Melfa was convicted of 2nd degree arson in a fire on Sheephouse Road in Pocomoke in April of 2012.  Judge Thomas Groton suspended 8 years and also sentenced Parks to 5 years supervised probation with mandatory alcohol and mental health counseling and GPS monitoring.  Parks has also been ordered to pay $2900 in restitution to the family.  Parks was also convicted of several arsons in Wicomico County in 2006 – at that time he was a firefighter.
