A quarterly test of the Salem-Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station Alert and notification system will take place next Tuesday, July 9. The sirens will go off between 7 and 9pm. DEMA and State Police say there are 37 sirens located within 10 miles of the plants which will be activated for 3 to 5 minutes. The test will be followed by an EAS test message on local radio. These are the same sirens that would notify the public of an actual emergency at either of the Salem-Hope Creek Stations.
