Gov. Markell Set to Sign SB 116 Today Reporting Dangerous Overdose Situations

Governor Jack Markell will today sign Senate Bill 116, known as the Kristen L. Jackson & John M. Perkins, Jr. Law, encouraging reporting of dangerous overdose situations.

Gov Markell will be joined by bill sponsors Senators Catherine Cloutier, Bryan Townsend and Bethany Hall-Long, as well as Representatives Helene Keeley, Michael Barbieri and Michael Mulrooney, the families of Kristen Jackson and John Perkins and community advocates to sign the bill that will provide criminal immunity for persons who suffer or report an alcohol or drug overdose or other life threatening medical emergency.

The bill signing ceremony is set to take place at 3 p.m. in the Governor’s Wilmington Office.
