Connecticut Man Charged wtih a Hit & Run and then Charged with Untaxed Cigarettes

A Connecticut man who was arrested for a hit and run in Newark – faces additional charges.   After 62 year old Juan Rodriguez-Acosta was arrested for a hit and run, DATE Agents were contacted because the man had a large amount of cigarettes.  The hit and run occurred on I-95 near Churcman’s Road – and Rodriguez-Acosta was arrested in Wilmington.  DATE Agents seized 252 cartons of illegal cigarettes.  Besides possession of untaxed tobacco he also faces a series of traffic violations.  He’s being held in default of $3000 secured bond.
