It’s going to cost you more to drive in Maryland starting Monday. That’s because the state’s first gas tax increase in two decades goes into effect tomorrow, along with the second round of toll increases in less than two years.
The changes to the gas tax will add about 3.5 cents to the price of a gallon of gas.
Supporters say the extra money is needed to help fund transportation projects; opponents say the added expense will hurt businesses.
