Jun 25, 2013 -- 10:55am

School districts and charter schools are being encouraged to apply for grants from the Delaware Department of Education for developing projects to support the growth of students.

The grants will be awarded for innovative improvement practices and projects to increase academic growth among students. The grants will provide opportunities for teacher-led projects, projects to implement Common Core, support for students and improving school climate.

Funding will become available once the Fiscal Year 2014 state budget is signed into law. The maximum grant request is $150,000. The deadline to apply for grants is July 26, and the awards will be announced in mid to late August.
