Delaware has received a $1-million grant to protect over 800 acres of critical lands in the Delaware Bayshore in Kent County.  This funding was awarded to DNREC and will be used with matching funds from the state’s Open Space Program to conserve and protect lands that will fill in gaps in more than 4000 of already protected wetlands in the St Jones River watershed.  Officials say already10 conservation partners have pledged matching funds to make the grant award possible.
