Sen. Carper Will Attend 375th Jubilee In Wilmington To Honor Landing of Swedes, Finns in Delaware

Senator Tom Carper will be among the dignitaries who’ll attend the 375th Jubilee this weekend.

The Jubilee will celebrate the 375th anniversary of the Swedes and Finns landing in and settling Delaware. Carper will join Governor Jack Markell and others in welcoming the King and Queen of Sweden, and the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament.

Carper will attend the Governor’s Luncheon at noon at the Buena Vista Conference Center in New Castle, then the Mayor’s Welcome to Wilmington at 2:30. He’ll then board the Kalmar Nyckel for a sail at 3 on the Christina River, and speak at a ceremony in Fort Christina Park. The day will be capped off with a Jubilee Dinner at 7 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront.
