Man Arrested At Homeless Shelter For Heroin Possession

May 10, 2013 -- 11:00am

A Georgetown man is in jail after being arrested for drug possession at a homeless shelter.

Around 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Georgetown Police were called to the Georgetown Crisis House on North Race Street for a resident that may have been in possession of illegal drugs. Staff at the shelter say 21-year-old Michael Gray was trying to sell the drugs to other residents. Police say a search of Gray’s living area found 18 bags of heroin hidden in one of his shoes.

Gray has been charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. He’s being held at SCI in lieu of bond, and will have a court date at a later time.
