With the passage Tuesday of HB 75 – the bill allowing same sex marriage – the Clerk of Peace office in Sussex County was a busy place Wednesday. While they can now begin accepting applications – Clerk of Peace John Brady tells WGMD they can’t issue a marriage license until mid to late June because the license is only good for 30 days. Updated applications and forms should be available by mid-June both in the Clerk of Peace office as well as online. Marriage licenses will be issued prior to July 1 - and couples are already reserving a time for their civil marriage ceremony.
