UPDATE: Bicyclist Treated For Minor Injuries After Being Hit By Jeep On Route 26 In Millville

UPDATED MAY 5: A bicyclist had to be taken to Beebe Medical Center after being hit on Route 26 in Millville Saturday afternoon.

Delaware State Police say just before 12:40 p.m., the driver of a 2004 Jeep Cherokee was going west on Route 26, and attempted to turn right onto Cedar Drive. That's when troopers say the Jeep hit a cyclist who was riding east in the bike lane. The cyclist, a 65-year-old man, was taken to Beebe to be treated for minor injuries.

Millville firefighters are arriving on the scene of a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Route 26 near the Giant shopping center in Millville. Drivers in the area should be on the lookout for firefighters and emergency equipment in the road, and should expect traffic in the area to slow down.
