Two people are in jail after being arrested in Delmar on drug charges.
Just after 8 o’clock Thursday night, Delaware State troopers went into a home on Denise Boulevard to follow up on an unrelated case. When they knocked on the door, the troopers say they could see 25-year-old Devaurus Bowen of Salisbury quickly carry a white plastic bag into the kitchen and put it under the sink. They were let in by 20-year-old Chelsea Shelton of Delmar, and allowed to search the home. Troopers say when they looked under the sink, they found four large bags containing nearly 211 grams of heroin and three-quarters of a gram of crack cocaine inside the white bag.
Bowen and Shelton have been charged with several charges of possession and intent to distribute drugs. Bowen is being held on $12,500 bail at SCI, while Shelton is being held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute on $13,500 bail.
