Sussex County Council Approves 2 Economic Development Incentive Grants & Greenwood Library Delayed

May 02, 2013 -- 12:47am

The Sussex County Council this week approved two County Economic Development Incentive Grants, which are based on new jobs coming to the county.  Brad Walters of Grayling Industries of Seaford tells the County Council that Grayling has facilities in Georgia, Texas and Juarez, Mexico.  The Mexican operation will be transferred to Seaford - the other two facilities will also transfer to Seaford by the end of 2014.  The Council approved a grant up to $92,000 for 115 jobs.  The other grant goes to Atlantis Industries in Milton which is experiencing growth and needs to modify it's present facility to accomodate its future plans - and an additional 20 employees - bring the full staff to 56.  The county approved a grant of up to $44800 for 56 jobs there.

There was some bad news for the County Council when County Engineer Mike Izzo told them the new metal building for the Greenwood Public Library would not be arriving this week as scheduled and the completion of the whole library project has been pushed back from November of this year to February 21, 2014.
