Maryland State Police got a call from a citizen reporting a suspected impaired driver Thursday night.
Within minutes the vehicle was located by troopers and subsequently stopped at the Route 50 Park-N-Ride in West Ocean City. During the initial contact by troopers with the driver, 46-year-old Timothy Mullray, he placed the vehicle into drive and attempted to flee at a high rate of speed. Mullray failed to make it out of the parking lot before his Mercedes, two-door convertible hit a curb and a tree.
Police say Mullray refused field sobriety tests and due to his injuries was transported by ambulance to PRMC.
Mullray was charged with DUI and other traffic related offenses.
