Charges are pending against the driver who crashed onto the Circle in Georgetown.
Georgetown Police were running a traffic detail on The Circle early Monday morning. Police say just after 2:45 a.m., a car driven by 26-year-old Nestor Ramirez traveled at a high rate of speed up West Market Street, and didn’t turn right onto The Circle. Officers say the car hit the curb, a fire hydrant, and then the fountain before coming to a stop. Police say they smelled alcohol on Ramirez’s breath, and he appeared to suffer head injuries in the crash. Ramirez was taken to Beebe Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
