St. Andrew’s School in Middletown has been honored as a Green Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced the second annual Green Ribbon Schools honorees, and the first ever District Sustainability Awardees. Green Ribbon winners are schools that are recognized for their efforts to reduce their environmental impacts and utility costs, promote better health, and work to effectively educate their students on the environment. Last month, St. Andrew’s, the Conrad Schools of Science and Richardson Park Elementary and Learning Center were recognized by DNREC and the Delaware Department of Education as state Green Ribbon winners.
St. Andrew’s uses sustainability and the environment as the context for teaching STEM skills and knowledge.
