Apr 20, 2013 -- 12:51am

Mamie “Peanut” Johnson is a living legend and she’ll be at Del State’s Longwood Auditorium next Thursday.   Mamie “Peanut” Johnson played baseball – and was one of three women to play in the Negro Leagues.  She’ll visit Del State Thursday, April 25 at 6pm to share her insights on the Negro Leagues and her very unique baseball career.  She was the only female pitcher in the Negro Leagues – and played against Satchel Paige, Buck O’Neil and Hank Aaron.  When she hung up her mitt – she went into nursing.  This is a free event and open to the public.  For information call (302) 857-7634
