Bail was denied Wednesday for the 38-year-old Parksley man arrested last week along with his fiancé for setting a majority of the fires in Accomack County since November 2012 through and last month.
Charles Smith made an appearance in Accomack County District Court yesterday; he’ll be back in court May 6 along with his fiancé, 40-year-old Tonya Bundick for preliminary hearings.
Smith and Bundick were arrested April 2 by Virginia State Police. Court documents state that Smith has admitted to setting 52 of the 77 arson fires and Bundick set 15 of the fires.
Both continue to be held without bail.
