UPDATED: Body Found Along DE River Identified as Delaware Memorial Bridge Jumper

UPDATED 5:50PM - The body of a man found along the Delaware River at Finn’s Point in New Castle County last evening has been identified as a 49 year old man from Franklinville, New Jersey.  Police say the man jumped from the Delaware Memorial Bridge on January 20th.


Delaware State Police today are conducting a death investigation after a body was discovered washed ashore along the Delaware River Tuesday night.

Police say a person walking along Finn's Point, an area along the eastern shore of the Delaware River, discovered the body around 9 p.m. Members of the Pennsville Police Department responded to the scene and determined that the body was in a section of Finn's Point that is part of Delaware.

The body was removed from the scene and turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the deceased's identity and cause and manner of death.
