The Dewey Beach Mayor and Council met Saturday and agreed to have the town manager draft an amendment banning smoking on the beach and in municipal parks. Once the amendment is drafted, it’s expected to be brought back before the Mayor and Council during its next meeting in May for a vote.
Earlier this year, Fenwick Island enacted a smoking ban and Bethany Beach also bans smoking on its beach and in state parks. And in Rehoboth Beach and Lewes, smoking is already banned in parks and playgrounds.
