Two men have been arrested after shots were fired into two homes in Dover over the weekend.
Just after 11 o’clock Saturday night, Dover Police were called to a home on Spruance Road for a report of shots fired into a home. Police say the .38 caliber bullets went through the front door, shattered windows, and went into the siding and drywall. Residents identified 18-year-old Isaiah Thomas of Magnolia as the shooter, and said the shooting was retaliation for a dispute at Whatcoat Apartments. Just after 12:40 Sunday morning, police responded to a shooting at a home in the Whatcoat Apartment complex. Just before 3 a.m., a silver Nissan Versa was pulled over on Route 13. 17-year-old Shykeem Johnson of Magnolia was the driver, and Thomas was a passenger. Police say Johnson initially gave them a phony name. A search of the SUV found a .38 handgun, 103.7 grams of marijuana, baggies and other drug paraphernalia.
Both men have been charged with seven counts of reckless endangering, two counts of criminal mischief and second-degree conspiracy. Thomas has been charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Johnson has also been charged with criminal impersonation. Both men are being held on bond at the Vaughn Correctional Center - Thomas on $189,750 bond, and Johnson on $22,500 bond.
