GOP Members in Dover Announce Package of Bills to Reform the General Assembly

Republican lawmakers from the House and Senate today announced a package of bills that will help to reform the General Assembly.   The five reform measures that are being introduced –

  • Removing a reporting requirement loophole on gifts to legislators
  • Barring legislators from seeking state employment after being elected
  • Requiring candidates to disclose legal financial obligations
  • Barring former legislators from acting as lobbyists for 2 years
  • Creating uniform protocols on House and Senate proceedings

It’s hoped that these measures will bring more transparency and efficiency of the General Assembly for the public.
