Volunteers Help Mountaire Farms Provide Meal Boxes for "Thanksgiving At Easter"

Mar 27, 2013 -- 2:06pm

Mountaire Farms and volunteers from American Legion Posts in Sussex County helped pack meal boxes to feed 5,000 people for Mountaire’s “Thanksgiving at Easter.”

Volunteers filled the Mountaire warehouse in Selbyville on Tuesday morning, and packed 1,000 meal boxes for area churches to provide food for those less fortunate in their parishes. The meal boxes included a roaster chicken, canned vegetables, pork and beans, cranberry sauce and a box of stuffing mix.

“Thanksgiving at Easter” is part of Mountaire’s “Thanksgiving for Thousands” program, which packs meal boxes for those that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford nutritious holiday meals.
