State Senate Republican leaders say the tax package that is being pushed through the General Assembly is being moved too soon. The 4 bills would retain the 2009 tax hikes to Delaware’s personal income tax, gross receipts tax, corporate franchise tax and the estate tax. Senate GOP Whip Greg Lavelle says tax bills generally aren’t worked until June because lawmakers will know how much money is available. The Delaware Economic Financial Advisory Council still has 3 more meetings before the budget is finalized.
