The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning for Sussex and Kent Counties for Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. Forecasters say a strong coastal storm will develop Wednesday with coastal flooding possible.
There is also a high wind warning in effect for 7 a.m. Wednesday morning through 5 a.m. Thursday morning for the Delaware beaches and inland Sussex County. Forecasters say winds will be out of the northeast at 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts as high as 60 miles per hour.The Coastal Flood Warning will be in effect between 1 and 8 a.m. Thursday morning. Forecasts are predicting that high tides Wednesday and Thursday will be between six and nine feet above mean lower low water (MLLW).
Meantime, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Kent and New Castle Counties from tonight through Wednesday afternoon. Forecasters say three to five inches of snow is possible for those two counties
