The Greater Lewes Foundations is accepting applications for the Jim Cresson Memorial Fund scholarship. The $1000 scholarship is awarded to help a Sussex County student who is interested in journalistic or creative writing and can be used for educational expenses – including tuition, room & board, books or computer equipment. Seniors should submit an essay of 750 to 1000 words on one of several topics that you’ll find at wgmd.com. Jim Cresson was a journalist for the Cape Gazette – he died in an accident in 2005 and the scholarship was established to keep his memory alive. The deadline for applications is March 31st.
