Funding for Low-income Delawareans for Summer Energy Costs Allocated

Feb 21, 2013 -- 4:48pm

An extra $86,000 will go to help low-income Delawareans pay their summer electric bills this year – through the Summer Cooling Assistance Program.  The program assists the elderly and people with disabilities to stay cool during the summer.  The funding comes from a 2012 settlement between the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Constellation Energies Commodities Group.  Governor Markell joined the Division of the Public Advocate to present a check to Dr. Anne Farley, the Director of State Service Centers for DHSS.
