UPDATE: Red Hot Chili Peppers & Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers to Headline Firefly Music Festival in Dover

UPDATED STORY: Big news coming out of Dover this morning.

We now know that The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will headline this year’s 2nd Annual Firefly Music Festival in Dover.

Those two groups will join at 69 other bands for the June 21-23 event.

Other acts include  the Grammy-nominated band The Lumineers and indie-rock vets Vampire Weekend.

Tickets for the Firefly Festival go on sale at noon Thursday.

 

Firefly will again be set in the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway, giving festival-goers a picturesque, wooded setting that is spacious and comfortable to enjoy the three-day event.

In its first year, Firefly hosted festival-goers from 48 states and 11 different countries, and received critical acclaim from major music media outlets such as Rolling Stone Magazine, Virgin, Billboard and others.

Firefly Music Festival is produced by the award-winning event production company Red Frog Events. Based in Chicago, Red Frog Events produces a variety of events across the world, including Warrior Dash, the world’s largest running series.

ORIGINAL STORY:  Big news coming out of Dover this morning. The lineup for at least 65 bands for June’s 2nd Annual Firefly Music Festival will be announced at 8 a.m.

Rumor has it that the Grammy-nominated band The Lumineers and indie-rock vets Vampire Weekend are two of the headline acts that will grace one of four stages set up near Dover International Speedway June 21-23.

Tickets for the Firefly Festival go on sale at noon  Thursday.
