UPDATED STORY: Officials at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore held a a campus-wide meeting this morning to talk about Saturday’s night’s murder of Edmond St. Clair. The 21-year-old junior biology major was stabbed to death during a fight as the campus celebrated homecoming.
UMES President Dr. Juliette Bell called the murder a defining moment that will force students and staff to grow stronger; she said security has been heightened on the campus since Saturday’s incident.
Meantime, police are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case; police say they are looking for three African American men in connection with the stabbing.

ORIGINAL STORY: Officials at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore will host a campus-wide meeting this morning to talk about Saturday’s night’s murder of Edmond St. Clair.
The 21-year-old junior biology major from Severn, Maryland was stabbed to death during a fight as the campus celebrated homecoming.
Police are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case; police say they are looking for three African American men in connection with the stabbing.
Meantime, classes are canceled until 1:45 this afternoon and the campus-wide meeting starts at 11:15 a.m. in the William P. Hytche Athletic Center on campus.
