The Wilmington-New Castle Airport has been recognized for its efforts to keep its staff up to date through training.
The airport has earned Airport News and Training Network’s Excellence in Airport Training award from the American Association of Airport Executives. The award is presented to airports that have demonstrated dedication to improving their operations, safety and preparedness. The Delaware River and Bay Authority says the training provided to the airport’s employees ensures that they’re familiar with all of their safety and operational requirements, as well as the latest on airfield safety and situational awareness.
New Castle is one of 70 airports nationwide that earned the award for 2012.
