A 35 year old New Castle man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for witness tampering and interstate transportation of threats. John Boney was arrested in late January in the US Courthouse in Wilmington after he used Facebook to threaten a government witness scheduled to testify in a federal criminal trial against Boney’s brother, William. William Boney was arrested with 4 others in 2010 trying to broker a 7-kilo cocaine deal – and then while cooperating with DEA agents, plotted the murder of a confidential informant who gave agents information on the 2010 drug deal. John Boney could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
