Winter Storm Nemo is Leaving Delmarva Wet & Windblown

Feb 09, 2013 -- 7:35am

The storm that’s leaving a blanket of snow to our north has left us with some minor flooding in areas that regularly flood – and a lot of wind.  There is a coastal flood warning until 11am – high tide at Lewes and the Indian River Coast Guard Station is at 7:39am.  Expect some beach erosion and flooding during high tide until the storm passes.

Yesterday was rain – today it’s wind that we’re experiencing from the storm that’s leaving the northeast under several feet of snow.  The winds are coming from the northwest at 18mph.  Power companies are ready in case you lose power.  After yesterday’s rains saturated the ground, the high winds could bring branches or trees down on the powerlines causing scattered outages.

If you’re planning to leave Delmarva and plan to catch a flight – you may want to call ahead to be sure your flight will be taking off.  The storm that’s pelting the northeast with snow is playing havoc with flight schedules and causing cancellations of many flights – and connecting flights.
