[UPDATE 6/27 6:27 a.m.] Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal wreck involving a motorcycle on U.S. 13 in Delmar.

The motorcyclist locked the brakes of the motorcycle and both the operator and passenger were ejected from the bike onto the road. The passenger landed in the right lane and the driver in the left.
A 32-year-old Delmar man was also driving northbound on U.S. 13 in the right lane and partially drove over the passenger.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator is in serious condition at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. The driver of the car, Richard Jones, was uninjured. Neither of the motorcycle riders was wearing a helmet.
Police say alcohol may have been a factor for the motorcycle riders. Authorities will release the names of the riders of the motorcycle when next of kin are notified.
