Rt 13 closed in Seaford because of 2 incidents at Herring Run Road and Concord Road
5pm – A 3-vehicle crash shut down part of Route 13 in Seaford this afternoon. State Police say just before 2pm 50 year old Anna Collick of Laurel was northbound on Route 13 near Concord Road. A van was stopped for a red light behind a pickup truck. For unknown reasons Collick didn’t stop in time and hit the rear of the van – forcing her car to go under the van and push it into the rear of the pickup truck. Collick and 2 passengers were properly restrained and taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Collick has been cited for inattentive driving, driving while suspended and revoked and other offenses. Drivers of the other 2 vehicles were not injured.
Farther north at the intersection of Route 13 and Herring Run Road a gas leak shut down traffic in that area and detoured traffic away from the scene. Both scenes were cleared by 4pm.
4pm – Traffic is beginning to move again on Route 13 in
Seaford – Delmarva Power is re-establishing the traffic signals. Two incidents have detoured traffic since about 2pm – one a gas leak in the area of the M & T Bank near Herring Run Road. The other a 3 vehicle crash at Route 13 and Concord Road. Injuries in that crash are reported by State Police as non-life threatening.
3pm – Drivers in Seaford are being detoured around a gas or fuel leak at Route 13 and Herring Run Road. Eastern Shore Fire/EMS/Police Breaking News reports that there is a large gas leak at Herring Run Road and businesses and parking lots in the area have been cleared and detours set up around the incident. Farther south on Route 13 at Route 20/Concord Road is a vehicle crash with a person possibly trapped inside the car. State Police say 3 vehicles were involved and injuries to the person trapped in the car under the van are not life threatening.
2pm – Drivers in Seaford are being detoured around a gas or fuel leak at Route 13 and Herring Run Road. Witnesses tell WGMD a tractor trailer is on its side. Eastern Shore Fire/EMS/Police Breaking News is reporting that Chesapeake Utilities has been called for the gas leak. Farther south on Route 13 at Route 20/Concord Road is a vehicle crash with a person possibly trapped inside the car. DelDOT has set up detours around the incident at Herring Run Road.
